Audrey Simmons, the Celebrant

Welcome to my page

My name is Audrey Simmons and I am a British Humanist Association Celebrant.

As a Celebrant, my role is to support you in creating a Wedding or Partnership ceremony

that represents you as individuals and your coming together as a couple.

The beauty of a Humanist wedding or Partnership ceremony is that it can be tailor made using non-religious personal touches such; as your vows, stories, cultural acts, music and readings.

The first step in the process is for us to have a face to face meeting to discuss the ideas for your ceremony, should you engage me, I will create a script that you as a couple will shape and approve.

Aside from being a Celebrant, I am a freelance British Sign Language Interpreter.

In 2001 I qualified as a British Sign Language interpreter and I work freelance within the Deaf community supporting in a range of social and professional environments.

I work in a variety of domains including, including Local Government, the National Health Service, Voluntary organisations and commercial companies, providing interpreting and translation services to enable communication between Deaf sign language users, and non-Sign Language users.

I am also an organiser with the London Black Atheists – LBA; a group that supports African-Caribbean people who have left, or are thinking of leaving religion. Whilst this group is aimed at African-Caribbean people, all are welcome.

I would be happy to conduct ceremonies anywhere in London.
