Anne Delaney, the Celebrant

Hello, I am Anne Delaney and I am a trained and accredited British Humanist Celebrant. I live in Wimbledon, South West London, I have one grown up son who lives near by. I believe that it is most important to mark significant events on our journey through life with ceremonies that reflect our personal belief or philosophy.

I trained to be a humanist celebrant after a career in education, firstly as specialist teacher of children with specific learning difficulties and eventually a head teacher of a large infant school. For many years I was actively involved in voluntary work for the British Dyslexia Association. I also worked with the Metropolitan Police Youth Offenders team teaching young people literary skills.

Most recently I have become an accredited Humanist Pastoral Support Volunteer and joined the chaplaincy team at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

One of my interests outside my professional life is the theatre. I have studied acting, which includes voice production and speech articulation, to an advanced level and I am regularly involved in amateur dramatic productions. I also enjoy gardening and the company of my cat.

I find my celebrant work most rewarding. I feel privileged that I am able to work with individuals and families to create a ceremony that is unique and special and which reflects who they are and what is important to them.

If you would like to discuss your ceremony needs informally, either by phone, e-mail or over coffee at a mutually convenient time, please contact me.

I conduct humanist wedding, naming and funeral and memorial ceremonies in Central and Greater London, Surrey and Sussex.
