I am an accredited humanist celebrant working in Bristol and Bath. I lead wedding and partnership ceremonies and conduct funerals and memorial services.
I have worked as a communications professional all my working life, including many years as a communications manager within the NHS. I have also worked as a freelance communications consultant, for local and national voluntary organisations, both in the UK and abroad.
I now work as a celebrant, alongside working part time as a Communications Manager for a local carers charity.
Weddings and partnership ceremonies
Most couples choose a humanist ceremony because they want something really special that will be shared by friends and family. Many couples complete the legal formalities first, obtaining a civil marriage certificate at a Register Office. But they regard their humanist wedding or partnership ceremony as the one which truly marks their life-long commitment to each other.
You can read more about how I will work with couples to put together a wedding ceremony that’s right for you.
Funerals and memorial services
Families often choose a humanist funeral when the person who has died had no particular religious belief, though they might not necessarily have called themselves a humanist. A humanist funeral gives family and friends the opportunity to share their grief and acknowledge the loss of someone they loved, placing the personal tribute at the centre of the ceremony. It is a chance to remember someone with affection, sincerity and respect, capturing their life and their personality in a ceremony that is personal and appropriate.
Here are some of the things that people have said about the funerals I have conducted in the last few months.
“Clare …was wonderful… I would recommend her to anyone who is interested in this type of service.”
“Thank you for all your kind suggestions, they are making the decisions so much easier to make.”
